Kayden Triumphs Again
For the second year running Shire Horse Society member, Kayden Barnett has won the Shire Horse Society’s Young Handler Accumulator award.
Affiliated shows across the country offered young handler classes to encourage younger members to show their Shire horses, whilst gaining confidence and enthusiasm to look after these magnificent horses.
The Shire breed is currently on the Rare Breed Survival Trust’s ‘At Risk’ register and in encouraging these young members to be involved helps the Society in preserving and protecting the Shire horse for the next generation.
The Shire Horse Society Young Handler’s Accumulator Award is open to Shire Horse Society junior members and points are awarded to the top five.
Kayden will receive his award at the National Shire Horse Show (7th-9th March) at Bingley Hall, Stafford Showground and this show will also include young handler classes for our members.
The competition will run again in 2025, and we look forward to seeing and encouraging our members in the ring.
