Dodson & Horrell and The Shire Horse Society are pleased to offer a seminar on heavy horse nutrition with a tour of Dodson & Horrell’s mill.

Led by Product Manager, Louise Scott, BSc(Hons), MSc and Nutritional Manager, Emma Nissler from Dodson & Horrell, the seminar will cover the following topics.

  • Foundations of nutrition – basic nutritional anatomy, importance of forage, requirements for energy/protein/vits and mins.  
  • What does a healthy horse look like? – Fat scoring, how to condition score a ‘heavy’ breed and touching on obesity.
  • The simple approach to feeding – how to put together a well-balanced diet + how to feed straights well. This will touch on feeding breeding animals too.  
  • Question + answer session.
  • Tour of the mill with talk

Venue: The Lion at Malpas, Cheshire, SY14 8NE
Date: 15th November 2023
Time: 11am – 3:30pm
Cost: £10.00 per person
