Another fantastic day was spent with Tullis and Edward Matson of Stallion AI and Twemlows and all of their team in Whitchurch, Shropshire. As the serving and foaling seasons begin it was a day full of positivity, spring sunshine and the lifting of winter’s veil for us all.
The day included a tour of both the stallion facilities and stables at Stallion AI including an opportunity to pet ‘Big Star’ and a walk around the mare section at Twemlows. Attendees witnessed a stallion service, semen processing and freezing. Gemini Genetics also introduced them to animal genetic cloning, which is playing a very important role in halting the extinction of rare breeds.
We would like to thank all of those who attended, especially two of our Trustees and visitors from Holland and Sweden. It is wonderful to see so many members who have an interest in future proofing our wonderful breed.
The Society would like to take this opportunity to wish Stallion AI success in their nomination to the Earthshot Prize 2026.
We will be running the day again later in 2026 so if you missed the chance to attend this one please keep an eye out for the new date to be announced via our website, newsletter and social media.
