The Shire Horse Society is pleased to announce the date and venue of their National Summer Show. This will be held in the parkland of Rockingham Castle, Market Harborough, LE16 8TH on Thursday 27th August 2026.
Home to the Society’s headquarters, this magnificent Castle was built over 950 years ago. Nestled high on the hillside of the Welland Valley the venue offers glorious views across Rutland, famous for being the smallest county in the country.

This new event will follow the National Spring Show at Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre in Cheshire on Saturday 21st March.
The National Summer Show will feature turnouts, ridden, young handler, in-hand, harness and agricultural classes, main ring entertainment, and trade stands.

In 2026 the Shire Horse Society will launch its Summer Supreme Brood Mare Championship with regional affiliated shows hosting qualifiers for the final at the National Summer Show at Rockingham Castle.
Shire Horse Society members gain complimentary admission to both shows on production of their annual membership badge.
