As a charity and breed society which receives no government funding we are entirely reliant on membership fees, grants and donations to continue our work in preserving, promoting and protecting the Shire horse for future generations. Over the years the Society has worked hard to ensure that the breed continues to grow and to maintain interest in these magnificent horses and to continue the work we are looking for new funding streams.

The Benefact Group gives all available profits to charity and good causes and is giving away £1million in 2024. As part of their Movement for Good programme they are donating £5,000 each to 10 charities which support the arts, culture or heritage and you can nominate us to receive one of the grants here. It will take just a couple of minutes and the deadline is Friday 11th October.
