We are well into the summer show season so we just wanted to remind everybody about the Breeder of the Year award. It is a special award for breeders of winning horses at the National Show and affiliated shows throughout 2024. Pure-bred in-hand mares, fillies, stallions, colts and foals that were bred and reside in the UK will be eligible to win points. The points won will accrue to their breeders, regardless of who is the current owner.
Points to be allocated to the breeders of horses in all In-hand classes as follows: 1st = 3 points, 2nd = 2 points 3rd = 1 point.
Points will be awarded at affiliated shows, for a full range of classes. Double points for classes won at the National Shire Horse Show.
The breeders with the highest number of points at the end of the season will receive prizes as follows, generously sponsored by Jason Holder, David Yates and Jonathan Worthington; 1st £500, 2nd £300, 3rd £100. A trophy will be presented at the National Shire Horse Show 2025..
