Approved Centre, Blists Hill Victorian Town (Ironbridge Gorge) is holding their popular 'heavy horse weekend' on 13th and 14th May.

Watch as these magnificent animals move around the town, pulling an assortment of trade vehicles. Learn about the role of horses in Industrial Britain and watch a captivating 'Horse Logging' demonstration in the woods!

Learn about the art of plaiting a horse’s mane ready for showing, how to harness a heavy horse, and watch as the visiting farrier demonstrates the skills needed to shoe a horse. There'll also be the chance to get up close to their four legged friends and see the town from up high on the horse bus, which will be running throughout the weekend.

In addition to their heavy horse activities, you'll be able to enjoy all that Blists Hill Victorian Town has to offer, from the historic town to our fantastic fairground and the Madeley Wood Co. Outdoor Adventure.

Shire Horse Society members gain complimentary admission on production of their 2023 members badge.
